Temporary Waterproofing

The temporary waterproofing of multi-phased new-build construction and renovation of existing structures may require protection against water ingress to individual floors or walls as the project progresses. Consideration should be given to the ease of installation, UV stability, impact resistance and durability of the membrane.Where necessary, temporary waterproofing will require suitable drainage discharge points to be incorporated.

RIW Toughseal, a polymer modified epoxy membrane with excellent resistance to chemicals and abrasion, can be applied as an exposed temporary waterproofing system to concrete and masonry bunds, or concrete decks / slabs. A slip retardant finish can be achieved by dressing the second coat of RIW Toughseal with RIW Aggregate grade 2. RIW Toughseal can be over coated and repaired easily should it become damaged and is UV resistant.

RIW Cementseal a high performance cement based waterproof coating with excellent durability that can be applied in one coat to provide a highly durable containment or temporary waterproofing system. The coating can be used in areas exposed to foot / vehicular traffic, where construction materials are stored on pallets and can be blinded with a small aggregate to create a slip retardant surface.

RIW Cementflex is a high performance cement based waterproof coating with excellent flexibility that is suitable for use where a membrane capable of accommodating movement of the substrate is required. The coating can be used in areas exposed to foot traffic. Due to its flexibility, RIW Cementflex is used regularly to reinforce RIW Cementseal at construction joints where differential movement is expected. RIW Heviseal, a liquid applied bitumen solution, is UV resistant and can be applied to concrete, masonry and timber.
