The Scottish Parliament Wins 2005
RIBA Stirling Prize!

Ltd congratulates EMBT / RMJM Ltd for
their success in winning the 2005 RIBA Stirling Prize
in association with The Architects’ Journal. The
Edinburgh based practice were awarded the prestigious
prize for the design of the Scottish Parliament building.
RIW is proud to have been associated
with this prestigious project, by supplying its Liquid
Asphaltic Composition (LAC),
which was used to protect the building’s ground
floor concrete framework, prior to cladding.
The Scottish Parliament project team beat off competition
from five other short-listed buildings in this year’s
competition, including the McLaren Technology Centre,
Woking (Architects - Foster and Partners), and the Jubilee
Library, Brighton (Architects - Bennetts Associates
with Lomax Cassidy + Edwards), both of which have also
used RIW products in their construction.
